ADAM SCOTT: We were auditioning lots of people, and so I was like, “What about Lizzy Caplan?” From knowing her work, I thought she and I would have chemistry. But also I knew that if we didn’t, she was good enough to pretend that we did and pull it off. And luckily, we actually did, and she didn’t have to pretend. Or, you know what? Maybe she was pretending the whole time and I just didn’t know it. She’s that good.
LIZZY CAPLAN: I thought that he hated me for a really long time. By “for a really long time” I mean like three weeks. I didn’t really get his sense of humor at first. He’s very dry, like, need a glass of water when you talk to him dry. And then eventually I realized that half the stuff he was doing that I didn’t understand was his attempts at being funny.

Megan: That is Ryan Hansen who is a member of the cast of Party Down and we were shooting one day in a park and there was a lake with many ducks. That is a very Donald Duck looking duck, wouldn’t you say? A classic duck.
Jimmy: Can I say that is a great looking duck. It really is. It’s big and it’s orange where it’s supposed to be orange.
Megan: Yeah. It’s a very good specimen. There were a lot of pranks on the set and so Ryan had somehow magically captured this duck and put it in Adam Scott’s trailer in his shower so that when he opened his door there was a giant duck in his shower.
Jimmy: Did he get scared?
Megan: I don’t know, probably. But there were a lot of pranks on that set, most of which cannot be told on television.
Jimmy: Oh, really? Filthy pranks?
Megan: Yes. Oh, yes!

Good news cult comedy fans, besides the previous announcement today that Lizzy Caplan and Martin Starr will be reuniting in a movie, it appears a large chunk of the Party Down cast going to appear (potentially in character) on Children’s Hospital…
In fact, there’s an episode entitled “Party Down” that will have Lizzy Caplan, Martin Starr, and Ryan Hansen as guest stars (in addition to Party Down refugees Ken Marino and Megan Mullally who are already regulars on Children’s Hospital). Here’s the premise, according to Rob Corddry: “It’s discovered that Glenn has never had a bar mitzvah, so Malin Akerman’s character Valerie throws him [one], and it’s catered.”
